Bar POS with stock control and customer tabs

Pour, ring up and move on — with every bottle, tab and note in the drawer accounted for when the lights come on.

SageBizet is a free, browser-based bar POS that rings up rounds quickly, keeps open orders and customer tabs, tracks bottle stock with a recorded reason for every change, and balances the cash drawer at close.

What goes wrong without a system

  • Rounds at a three-deep bar

At peak, bartenders take orders shouted across the bar and add them up in their heads. A slow till means fewer rounds served and more mistakes in the change.

  • Stock that leaks

Free pours, breakages, staff drinks and the odd missing bottle add up. Without regular counts and a reason for each change, the difference between what was bought and what was sold is a mystery.

  • Tabs that walk out

An open tab on a scrap of paper is easy to lose, and the group that leaves without settling is gone for good.

  • Several people in one drawer

With more than one bartender on a shift, voids, discounts and cash all go through the same till, and when the drawer is short nobody knows why.

A day at your business, with SageBizet

Open to close — where each part of the system earns its place.
  1. 16:00

    Before opening

Count the fridges and the spirits shelf and enter the counts as recounts; any difference is recorded against the item. Log the afternoon delivery as a purchase.

  2. 17:00

    Open the drawer

Open a cash drawer session with the float. From here SageBizet keeps a running expected-cash figure.

  3. 18:30

    After-work rush

Tap the drinks, take cash with quick-cash buttons and read the change off the screen. A group that wants to keep going gets a held order that stays open on the till for the rest of the evening.

  4. 21:30

    Peak

Bartenders on the Staff role can sell but cannot void a sale; a manager does that. Every discount is recorded against the bartender who gave it, and a big sale triggers a notification for the owner.

  5. 00:30

    Last orders

Resume each held order and charge it. A trusted regular who settles at the end of the month goes On tab to their customer record instead.

  6. 01:00

    Close

Count the drawer and the over or short is saved. Breakages go in as damage. In the morning, Insights shows sales, voids and discounts per staff member.

Two kinds of tab, and stock that adds up

Bars use the word tab for two different things, and SageBizet handles both. A tab for tonight is a held order: it stays open on the till and is charged when the group leaves. A tab that runs for weeks is a customer tab: the sale is charged to a named customer and their balance carries over until they pay.

What SageBizet does not do for bars

  • Measure pours at the tap — set up as a Café or Restaurant business, recipes take each measure off the bottle as it sells, but nothing is measured physically
  • Change prices on a schedule for happy hour — use an order discount or separate items
  • Split a round across payment methods unless the business is set up as a Café or Restaurant, where split bills and tips are on the till
  • Process card payments — use your existing terminal and record the sale as Card

Common questions

Is SageBizet free for a bar?
Yes. SageBizet is free during early access for bars and pubs, with every feature included, no credit card and no per-terminal or per-user fees.
Can I keep open tabs for the night in SageBizet?
Yes. A held order in SageBizet stays open on the till so you can add rounds and charge it when the group leaves; held orders are saved on the device that holds them.
How does SageBizet help with bar stock loss?
SageBizet records every stock change with a reason — sale, purchase, recount, waste, damage and more — so a weekly recount shows exactly how far real stock has drifted from what was sold.
Can SageBizet stop bartenders giving away free drinks?
SageBizet roles control who can void sales, and Insights shows sales, voids and discounts for each staff member, so a bartender who discounts far more than the others stands out.
Does SageBizet track spirits by the shot?
Set up as a Café or Restaurant business, SageBizet takes each measure off the bottle through recipes as drinks sell, and weekly counts show the difference. It does not measure pours physically.
Does the bar till work if the internet goes down?
Yes. The SageBizet till keeps taking sales offline, saves them on the device and syncs them automatically when the connection returns, without ever recording a sale twice.
