POS system for small businesses

Ring up a sale in seconds on a computer, tablet or phone you already own — with stock, cash and reports updating as you sell.

SageBizet POS is a free, browser-based point of sale that rings up items and services, takes cash, card, mobile or tab payments, and updates stock and reports as each sale is made.

What point of sale does in SageBizet

  • Fast at the counter

Type a few letters or scan a barcode to add an item; Enter adds it, + and − change quantity, and Ctrl+Enter charges. Every control is also a 44px touch target for tablets.

  • Cash without mental arithmetic

Quick-cash buttons offer the exact amount and the next likely notes, the change is worked out as you build the order, and after the sale the change due is the largest thing on screen.

  • Real counter workflows

Hold an order and serve the next person, add a custom item that is not in your catalogue, attach a note that prints on the receipt, or put the sale on a regular customer’s tab.

  • Stock and reports update themselves

Each sale decrements tracked stock, lands in sales history and the live dashboard, and counts toward the cash drawer total.

  • Keeps selling if the internet drops

Sales are saved on the device and sync automatically when the connection returns, and a retry can never record the same sale twice.

How it works

  1. 01

    Add your items

Enter products or services with a price, optional SKU, category and photo — or start selling with custom items and add the catalogue later.

  2. 02

    Open the till

Open SageBizet in a browser on any device. There is nothing to install, and you can add it to the home screen like an app.

  3. 03

    Sell

Tap or scan items, choose cash, card, mobile money, other or a customer tab, and charge. Print the receipt or share a receipt link.

  4. 04

    Close the day

Count the drawer against the expected cash and read the day on the dashboard: takings, profit after expenses, best sellers and the busiest hour.

What a small-business POS actually needs to do

A point of sale has one job at the counter — take the money correctly and quickly — and a second job after hours: tell the owner what happened. Most small businesses end up with a till that does the first and a notebook or spreadsheet for the second. SageBizet does both from the same records, so the sale you ring up at 9:14 is already in tonight’s profit, tomorrow’s reorder suggestion and this month’s insights.

What it does, and what it doesn’t

Straight answers, so you know before you sign up whether it fits.

It does

  • Records how each sale was paid: cash, card, mobile money, other or on a customer tab
  • Works with any USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner that types into the browser
  • Prints receipts on a thermal or normal printer through the browser
  • Queues sales on the device when offline and syncs them later
  • Lets owners limit what staff can do, such as voiding sales, seeing reports or changing settings

It doesn’t

  • Process card payments — use your existing card terminal and record the sale as Card
  • Split one sale across payment methods outside the café till — cafés and restaurants can split a bill and take tips
  • Sell or require special hardware
  • Replace accounting or tax software

Point of Sale: common questions

Is the SageBizet POS really free?
Yes. SageBizet is free during early access, with every feature included, no credit card and no per-terminal or per-user fees.
What hardware do I need to use the SageBizet POS?
Any computer, tablet or phone with a modern browser. A barcode scanner that types into the browser and a receipt printer are optional and work without drivers or special setup.
Does the SageBizet POS work offline?
The till keeps taking sales if the internet drops. Sales are saved on the device and sync automatically when the connection returns, and each sale carries an ID so a retry can never record it twice.
Can SageBizet process card payments?
No. SageBizet records how a sale was paid but does not move money, so you keep your existing card terminal or mobile-money service and record the sale as Card or Mobile.
Can I use the POS for services as well as products?
Yes. Items can be products with tracked stock or services without stock, and custom items let you charge any amount for something that is not in your catalogue.
Can staff use the POS without seeing reports or voiding sales?
Yes. Roles control what each person can do; a Staff role can ring up sales without voiding them or seeing reports and settings, and owners can build custom roles from 29 permissions. Discounts given by each person are shown in Insights.
