Salon software: appointments, POS and stock

Let clients book themselves in, keep each stylist’s hours and every client’s preferences in one place, and sell the shampoo at the same checkout as the cut.

SageBizet is free, browser-based salon software that gives each stylist their own calendar and hours, keeps client preferences, allergies and patch tests, takes appointments online, rings up services and retail products at the POS, and tracks product stock.

What goes wrong without a system

  • Bookings that interrupt the work

Appointments arrive by phone, text and social media while stylists have colour on a client’s hair. Answering means stopping work; not answering means losing the booking.

  • No-shows and late cancellations

A two-hour colour slot that nobody turns up for is two hours of a stylist’s day gone, and without a record nobody knows which clients make a habit of it.

  • Retail and back-bar stock out of sight

Shampoo, treatments and styling products sell from the shelf and get used at the basin. Nobody notices a best seller has run out until a client asks for it.

  • Not knowing who brings in what

With several stylists, the owner cannot see who is busy, who sells retail and whose discounts are eating into the day.

A day at your business, with SageBizet

Open to close — where each part of the system earns its place.
  1. 08:30

    Front desk opens

The front-desk view lists today’s appointments on each stylist’s calendar, including bookings clients made overnight on the salon’s public booking page.

  2. 09:00

    First clients

Check each client in as they arrive. Service durations and buffer times keep the next appointment from starting before the chair is ready.

  3. 11:15

    A no-show

A client has not arrived after the grace period, so the appointment is marked as a no-show and the slot goes to a walk-in from the queue.

  4. 13:00

    Checkout with retail

The finished visit becomes the bill: each service with the stylist who did it, the shampoo they recommended, a tip for each stylist and a payment split between cash and mobile money. Card payments are taken on your own terminal and recorded as Card. Then book the next visit in the client’s usual number of weeks.

  5. 16:00

    Restock and confirmations

The backbar and retail low-stock lists show what to order to last the month. The call list has tomorrow’s clients to confirm, each message ready to send from the desk’s phone and ticked off with who sent it.

  6. 19:00

    Close

Count the drawer against expected cash. The command centre shows what came in and what was earned, how full each stylist’s day was and who is overdue; each stylist’s statement explains every line of their commission.

How to set up a salon in SageBizet

A salon maps neatly onto SageBizet’s appointment booking: the work itself is services with their own phases and prices, chairs and rooms are stations, and each stylist has a calendar of their own with their hours, level and the services they do.

What SageBizet does not do for salons

  • Send automatic text or email reminders — confirmations are made by phone and logged
  • Take deposits or card payments online — deposits are recorded at the desk, and SageBizet records payments but does not process them
  • Run payroll — commission, tips and hours clocked are worked out for each person, but wages, tax and pensions are not

Common questions

Is SageBizet free for a salon?
Yes. SageBizet is free during early access for hair and beauty salons, with online booking, POS, stock and reports included, no credit card and no per-user fees.
Can salon clients book appointments online with SageBizet?
Yes. A SageBizet salon gets a public booking page where clients choose a service and an available time, and the appointment appears in the salon’s calendar and front-desk view.
Can each appointment be assigned to a stylist?
Yes. Each stylist in SageBizet has their own calendar with their hours and the services they do, and appointments are booked on it. Chairs, basins and rooms are recorded as stations of their own.
Can a salon keep track of client allergies in SageBizet?
Yes. A client record holds allergies, sensitivities and patch tests. The front desk sees that something is on file; only staff allowed to see sensitive details can read it, and each look is logged.
How does SageBizet help a salon with no-shows?
SageBizet lets a salon require a phone number at booking, show a cancellation policy, set a no-show grace period, mark appointments as no-shows and see them in booking reports.
Can a salon sell retail products in SageBizet?
Yes. Retail products are inventory items with barcodes and stock tracking, sold on the same SageBizet sale as the service, and stock goes down automatically.
Does SageBizet calculate stylist commission?
Yes, for salons. Commission rules can be set by person, level, service or category, as a percentage (after discounts, before them, or after product cost) or a fixed amount, and every row on a stylist’s statement says how it was worked out. Shared services are split by each person’s share, tips go to the person or into a pool shared by hours clocked, and a payout is recorded as an expense. SageBizet does not run payroll.
